There's nothing more rewarding than to teach a student a life saving skill. All of us have a survivor's instinct within us, including your little ones. Our students learn that when they overcome difficult obstacles, a feeling of confidence and reward will wash over them. Putting the "work" in, makes the "play" that much more fun!
Our program is not game oriented, but skill based. Lessons are short but efficient. At the beginning, it is normal for students to protest with screams and tears. In most cases, by the middle point into the program students skill level and confidence will grow and their fears will fade away. Parents need to keep in mind that their child is embarking on a life saving skill and not to let their personal anxiety get in the way of their swimmer's progress. Before and after lessons, parents can help in the process with words of encouragement that instill resiliency in your child.
